Hyacinth bean is a beautiful vine that twines around fences, posts or trellises. It grows rapidly in a single season, reaching up to 20 feet. It produces pink purple and white bi-colored flowers and striking electric-purple to magenta colored seed pods. Perennial to 20-30 feet in zones 9 - 11, grown as an annual in the temperate north. Excellent nitrogen fixer. Plant prefers full sun, rich, well-drained soil and a trellis.
